The East Hants Long Term Development Plan received an Honourable Mention from the Canadian Institute of Planners in its 1999 Awards for Planning Excellence.

• based upon landscape capability and suitability analysis conducted within GIS

• establish community goals and objectives for residential development
• data entry to construct digital base map and digital thematic map layers
• prepare descriptions of each thematic layer created
• combination of individual themes in suitability analysis
• create conceptual development masterplan based on results of individual suitability maps
