The south end of the Hydrostone neighbourhood is only 2 kilometres away from the northern end of Halifax's downtown. This means that residents working in the downtown have easy access, and even able to walk to work.

The neighbourhood is a short distance from several arterial routes leading out of the peninsula of Halifax. Novalea Drive on the east, Young Street on the south and Duffus Street on the northern edges of the neighbourhood are all direct routes to arterial roads.
