Urban planners out of step with society, By Brian Lee Crowley
Brian Lee Crowley is President and Director of the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies (AIMS), an independent economic and social policy think tank. AIMS' stated purpose is to "bring to the public's attention fresh, independent thinking about the suitability of social reforms for our own (i.e. the Atlantic Provinces') economic and social situation"
Crowley ia a frequent contributor to the Halifax Chronicle-Herald's editorial pages. In an October 23rd, 2002 column, he targeted urban planning as one of those "social reforms" which is highly unsuitable for our situation. Quick off the mark to justify the profession were API President Alex Forbes and CIP Fellow Maurice Lloyd.
