Strategy Assumptions and Intents
Assumptions:
- integrated multi-purpose city core is necessary and desirable
- high quality public realm is important for physical structure of city and as receptacle for civic engagement
- there is direct relationship between regional development processes and health of city core
- city core has functional, symbolic and economic value to residents of Halifax peninsula and region
Intents:
- show relationships between regional development patterns and effects on downtown core
- show relationship between development at lot level and effect on downtown area
- provide departure point for further inquiry and analysis
- provide additional analytical tool for decision making
