Strategy Assumptions and Intents

Assumptions:

• integrated multi-purpose city core is necessary and desirable
• high quality public realm is important for physical structure of city and as receptacle for civic engagement
• there is direct relationship between regional development processes and health of city core
• city core has functional, symbolic and economic value to residents of Halifax peninsula and region

Intents:

• show relationships between regional development patterns and effects on downtown core
• show relationship between development at lot level and effect on downtown area
• provide departure point for further inquiry and analysis
• provide additional analytical tool for decision making
