Call for Presenters – API / NSPDA Conference 2012

The Atlantic Planners Institute (API) and the Nova Scotia Planning Directors Association have joined together to organize this year’s annual planning conference on the theme, “Planning for Place in Atlantic Canada.” The conference will be held at the Lord Nelson Hotel in Halifax on May 2, 3, and 4, 2012.

Conference presenters are being sought and API members are invited to submit expressions of interest. Sub-themes for the conference include:

• Defining great public spaces and communities

• Placing a greater emphasis on physical design rather than simply land use

• Regulatory barriers to achieving great places and communities

• Repurposing buildings

• Institutional siting standards

• Brownfields

• Densification/clustering

• Mixed use/multi use projects

Potential conference presenters are asked to submit a brief description of their proposed topic to:
