Mr. Barry Zwicker questioned how many people saw the ad in the newspaper this week listing all of the Nova Scotia API members who are in good standing. It's a great idea to do this and to get the information out to the general public. One little criticism is that if we're going to do it, we have to make it accurate. Good standing for API implies you've got your dues paid up. A few of you's might want to check your place of employment because some are inaccurate and there are a few blanks so it would be good to the person putting this information into the paper to know the exact address or name of your company or your employer so it's accurate for the next time we publish it.
This morning we have with us Dr. Ian Wight. Ian is from Manitoba and is an assistant professor at the Department of City Planning at the University of Manitoba. Prior to getting into the teaching field, he worked at the Peace River Planning Commission, Alberta Municipal Affairs, Islands Trust in BC, and he was also a consultant, which makes him a well rounded planner. He's got experience in everything that we need to hear and talk about over the next couple of days. Ian is also a very active member of CIP. He's a past president of AACIP which is the equivalent of the Alberta affiliate comparable to API and he has been involved with Plan Canada on the editorial board for some time. Ian's experience will serve us well this morning.
