To become a member
To become a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), you must apply for membership in your local affiliate. For the Atlantic Provinces, that affiliate is the Atlantic Planners Institute (API). The Canadian Institute of Planners is contracted to look after membership files for the Atlantic Planners Institute and so applications for membership are to be sent to CIP
There are three categories of membership: student, provisional and full.
To become a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Atlantic Planners Institute:

2) Include the appropriate fee

Fees for 2011
Student:
No application fee
Annual fees: CIP – $21.00 + API $ 35.00 + Provincial or HST sales taxes
Provisional/Full:
Application fee: $50.00
Annual fees: CIP $179.00 + API $170.00 + Insurance $55.00 + Provincial or HST sales taxes
Invoices for the annual membership fees are sent by mail in November with a follow-up reminder in April.
